The other day we met the charming South African photographer, Antonia Steyn. She has shot various campaigns for brands such as Adidas and Mooks. And has done editorial work for magazines like Elle, Glamour, Cosmo and the increasingly popular, MK Bruce Lee. The following photographs are from her latest shoot. The aim of the shoot was to portray "african beauty" while taking the notion of fashion photography and pulling it apart at the seams. It's about celebrating imperfections and reality, rather than creating a false facade of beauty. You can view her portfolio at www.oneleague.co.za.
Louis de Jager Vorster
After receiving his National Diploma (Industrial Design) in Johannesburg in 1996, Louis moved to Cape Town where he received a Higher Diploma (Industrial Design) the following year. He taught part-time at the Cape Technikon for a couple of years before his design and visual communication background got him interested in multimedia design. After freelancing as a designer in the new medium for a year or two he took up a two year teaching post at the Dept. of Visual Arts & Design of the Vaal Triangle Technikon. This was where his interest in creating content for multimedia products led to the desire to become a professional photographer.
