Cape Town Furniture Week returns. Here’s what the design festival is all about, where to find it across the city, and how you can take part.
Cape Town Furniture Week takes place from 18 to 21 February 2026. The four-day festival focuses on contemporary furniture, lighting and homeware, spread across Cape Town’s inner city and surrounding areas.
Now in its fourth edition, the event brings together exhibitions, open showrooms, talks, tours and pop-ups. It’s designed to be accessible to both industry professionals and the public, with most exhibition spaces free to enter over the four days.

At its core, Cape Town Furniture Week is about moving through the city and encountering design in context. Showrooms, studios and temporary spaces open their doors, inviting visitors to see how work is made, shown and used.

Where it happens
The programme runs across more than 45 locations, grouped into walkable design districts. These include the Central City, De Waterkant, East City, Lower Gardens and Kloof Street, with additional spaces in Observatory, Salt River, Woodstock and Paarden Eiland.
Anchoring the week is the Festival Hub, located at 81 St George’s Mall, in the former Africa Bank Building. It serves as a central starting point for visitors, hosting exhibitions of new work by more than 40 exhibitors, along with several special installations. The CTFW x VISI Design Prize exhibition will also be shown here.
The Festival Hub is open to the public throughout the week, with extended hours on opening night. Design professionals can access an early preview on Wednesday afternoon.

Who’s showing
The 2026 edition includes close to 80 participating brands and designers. Exhibitors range from independent designer-makers to established local brands, with a growing number of international participants.
Some show work from their own studios or showrooms. Others host pop-ups or collaborate in shared spaces, including at the Festival Hub. Many exhibitors use the week to debut new designs, test ideas or present limited installations created specifically for the festival.

How to attend
Cape Town Furniture Week is free to attend. All exhibition spaces are open to the public, and no tickets are required to visit showrooms or the Festival Hub.
Alongside the exhibitions is a daily programme of talks, tours, launches and workshops. Some events are open access, but most require advance registration due to limited capacity.

Opening night and beyond
The programme officially begins on the morning of Wednesday, 18 February. That evening, opening night events take place across the city, with selected showrooms and pop-ups open after hours.
Visitors are encouraged to explore at their own pace. The structure allows for planned routes or unstructured wandering between districts, with cafés and restaurants woven into the experience.
As in previous years, attendees can also vote for their favourite exhibitor. Voting opens at the start of the festival, with the winner receiving the Best in Show award.
