Zee Nxumalo and DBN Gogo lead H&M’s A/W26 launch in Johannesburg

H&M launched its A/W26 collection in Johannesburg with a Sandton rooftop event featuring Zee Nxumalo, DBN Gogo and a lineup of local DJs.

H&M South Africa launched its A/W26 collection with a rooftop event at Sandton City in Johannesburg on 21 March. The event, titled the A/W Sound Lounge, brought together music and fashion against the city skyline.

The night was led by Zee Nxumalo and DBN Gogo. They were joined by DJs Pona & NKLY, Lelowhatsgood, MCHLSN and Deniece Marz. The lineup leaned into local music and set the tone for the evening.

Guests moved through a series of interactive spaces. There was a nail bar from H&M Beauty, photo stations and a customisation area. Each activation focused on personal style and self-expression.

Attendees included Nomalanga Shozi, LordKez and Money Badoo. Many wore pieces from the new collection, styled in different ways.

The event was open to the public. Customers could enter by signing up to H&M Fashion News. Earlier in the day, selected guests attended meet-and-greet sessions with Zee Nxumalo and DBN Gogo at the H&M Sandton City store.

“Being part of this moment with H&M feels really special. Fashion and music go hand in hand for me, so it’s great to work with a brand that celebrates individuality and self-expression,” said Zee Nxumalo.

The A/W26 collection draws on references from the 1970s and 1990s. It will be released in two parts. The first drop looks to late 90s Britain, when artists and creatives shaped new ideas around style and identity. The collection includes a mix of everyday and more elevated pieces, with a focus on layering, texture and print.

The first drop is now available in H&M stores nationwide and online through Superbalist.
