Step Inside Cape Town’s Top Design Studios This Week at Open Studios

Good news, design lovers, Open Studios is back in Cape Town this October, bringing you two nights of creativity, inspiration, and a rare chance to see where the city’s iconic designs come to life.

On October 15th and 16th, from 5pm to 8pm, over 20 of Cape Town’s top architecture firms, landscape designers, urban planners, and interior designers will open their doors for a behind-the-scenes look at their studios. This event is all about showing off the spaces where big ideas are born and giving you a peek into the minds of some of the city’s most creative people.

Since its start in 2013, Open Studios has grown into one of Cape Town’s biggest design events. It’s a great opportunity for design enthusiasts, students, and anyone curious about the creative world to meet the people behind iconic buildings and explore the city’s architectural landscape in a whole new way. Expect interactive activities like virtual reality experiences, model-building, and creative workshops that let you dive into the world of design.

Two Nights, Two Vibes

The event kicks off on Tuesday, October 15th, with studios in the Central Business District, stretching from De Waterkant to Kloof Street. On Wednesday, October 16th, the spotlight moves to the creative hubs of Woodstock and Gardens. Each night will give you the chance to hop from studio to studio, guided by a route map available at every location, so you can plan your visits and make the most of the experience.

The event is free, and the list of participating studios is available on Open Studios’ website and social media pages. Some of the names to look out for include BHC School of Design, Bomax, SAOTA, DHK, Urban Concepts, and many more.
