There are certain cities that don’t just influence culture, they create it. Durban and Los Angeles are two of those places.
The House of Rémy Martin today unveils ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’ an exclusive VSOP limited edition. This bold initiative connects Durban and Los Angeles, transforming music and movement into a universal language, and rhythm into a bridge between two worlds. Inspired by the Cellar Master’s art of blending and the refined balance of Rémy Martin VSOP, this edition celebrates creativity and identity, in perfect harmony with World Cognac Day. The campaign kicked off in Durban, expand through a ‘Cities Tour’ and culminate at the prestigious Durban July, over the past weekend.

RÉMY MARTIN ‘TWO CITIES. ONE SPIRIT.’: WHERE SOUND BECOMES A SHARED LANGUAGE
Durban and Los Angeles, though geographically distant, share a vibrant energy, shaped by music, identity and expression. In these two cities, sound is an essential component of life, carrying memories, emotion, and a sense of belonging.

At the heart of this exchange are two creative forces: Asvnte and Que DJ. Asvnte represents the cinematic expression of Hip Hop, characterized by emotional depth, rich narrative layering, and alternative R&B influence. Que DJ, for his part, embodies the raw rhythmic power of Gqom, rooted in KwaMashu and refined through years of sonic evolution. Together they illustrate a harmony of contrasts, where elegance meets intensity, and narrative meets rhythm, much like the balanced blend of Rémy Martin VSOP.

“We are proud to launch ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’, an initiative that perfectly embodies the spirit of Rémy Martin VSOP. This unique collaboration between Durban and Los Angeles, driven by talents like Asvnte and Que DJ, is an ode to creativity and cultural connection, values dear to Rémy Martin and resonating with the balance of our eaux-de-vie.” states Amaury Vinclet, Rémy Martin General Manager
RÉMY MARTIN SYNC THE CITY: DURBAN, ONE LIVING FREQUENCY
The journey begins with Rémy Martin Sync The City, a multi-venue activation that transforms Durban into a vibrant and unified system.

Venues do not operate in isolation; they activate simultaneously, creating a continuous flow of sound, movement and energy. The city becomes a single living frequency, where the audience experiences a shared pulse, rather than distinct moments. Within this activation, Asvnte and Que DJ act as guides. Asvnte brings cinematic storytelling and emotional sound design. Que DJ infuses deep, bass-driven energy and physical rhythm. Together, they create a dialogue between Hip Hop and Gqom that defines the emotional and sonic core of the experience.

As the movement expands through the Rémy Martin Cities Tour, the narrative continues to evolve, never restarting. Each city adds new layers of sound, expression and shared experiences, building a constantly growing heritage. The journey becomes an itinerant system where Hip Hop and Gqom continue to meet, reinterpret, and enrich each other in real time.

RÉMY MARTIN DURBAN JULY: TWO CITIES, ONE STAGE
This journey culminated at Rémy Martin Durban July, where Durban and Los Angeles converge in an emblematic moment.

Throughout the weekend, music, fashion, and performance intertwine in real time. Asvnte’s cinematic world meets Que DJ’s rhythmic force, creating a unified cultural expression that reflects the harmony of VSOP, where contrast becomes balance.

Here, sound transforms into experience, experience into memory, and memory into a legacy captured within the moment itself.
