sportscene Cape Gate has reopened with a fresh new look. We were there for the opening to check out the updated space, new drops, customisation stations and everything happening across the store.

sportscene Cape Gate is back in biz. The store has reopened with a fresh look, and the opening brought together friends, family and the Cape Town community for a day of music, customisation, giveaways and new drops.

Live DJ sets kept things moving while guests explored the new space and got involved with activations from some of sportscene’s key brands.

Come for the New Look, Stay for the Activations

The launch gave shoppers plenty to get stuck into.

Anatomy brought custom keyrings and paracord carabiners, while Redbat offered denim customisation with iron-on patches to choose from. Over at adidas, guests could customise their sneakers and put their own spin on their kicks, with New Balance also joining the action with a treat bar offering fresh, high-tech drinks.

There was also a Spin & Win, giveaways and other brand activations throughout the day.

Anatomy Caught Our Eye

The brand that caught our eye was Anatomy, a South African label that designs with movement, comfort and everyday wear in mind. Among the pieces we liked were the Modular Utility Pants, which can be worn as either pants or shorts, paired with the Reversible Layered Transparent Jacket for an easy, layered look.

The women’s range stood out too, with the Asymmetrical Gathered Tee and Draped Asymmetrical Shock Cord Dress bringing interesting shapes without feeling overworked. There’s also plenty of utility in the mix, from the Cape Jacket and Utility Shorts to the 2-in-1 Pleat Detail Jacket and Pleated Wide-Leg Pants. It’s a collection that gives you room to play with how you wear it.
