Nduduzo at CTIJF 2026

Nduduzo Makhathini and Zoë Modiga at CTIJF, music meets fashion

Nduduzo Makhathini and Zoë Modiga performed at CTIJF 2026, with fashion forming part of the Jazz Week programme.

Cape Town’s Jazz Week culminated in the return of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) on 27 and 28 March 2026.

Among the artists on the lineup were Nduduzo Makhathini and Zoë Modiga, both returning to the CTIJF stage. Their work draws from jazz and African storytelling, shaping performances that move between tradition and experimentation.

Makhathini’s set marked his second consecutive appearance at the festival. Modiga performed ahead of the release of her upcoming album, signalling a new phase in her work.

Fashion formed part of the visual language on stage. Makhathini wore a look combining pieces from G-STAR’s Marc Newson and Archetypes collections, built around layered denim, texture and silhouette. Modiga’s styling aligned with the same approach, using clothing as an extension of her performance and identity.

Across the weekend, G-STAR appeared as a cultural partner, working with a number of artists during Jazz Week. Both Makhathini and Modiga wore looks from the brand during their performances, connecting fashion and music within the festival setting.

The jazz weekend unfolds on a full-denim stage, connecting creative stories from artists South Africa through a shared language of cloth, craft and culture

The festival brought together a range of local and international artists, closing out a week of events that took place across Cape Town, from smaller listening spaces to large-scale stages.
