MDU aka TRP brings his One Man Show to CPT

One of the producers who helped define Amapiano’s signature log-drum sound is bringing his biggest Cape Town show yet this August.

Taking over The Alley in Paarden Eiland on Saturday, 1 August, MDU aka TRP’s 12-hour music experience promises a stacked line-up of some of the country’s biggest names in Amapiano, including DJ Maphorisa, Cairo CPT, Tycoon B2B Skroef28, Loatinover Pounds, Malemon and more.

Widely credited as one of the pioneers of Amapiano’s signature log-drum sound, MDU aka TRP has played a defining role in shaping the genre over the past few years. His productions have amassed more than 20 million streams, earned him a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Produced Album and cemented his place as one of the genre’s most influential producers.

The One Man Show has grown into one of South Africa’s biggest Amapiano events, combining live performances, DJs and large-scale production into a full-day celebration of the culture surrounding the genre.

“The One Man Show is about celebrating the culture, the journey and the audience that has supported this movement from the very beginning,” says the event team. “We’re bringing a top-tier production and a heavyweight line-up to Cape Town for an unforgettable 12-hour experience.”
