Moonchild Sanelly steps into Afro House with new single ‘Khetha’

Moonchild Sanelly has teamed up with producers ZVRI and Kususa on Khetha, a new Afro House track built around her message of choosing your own struggle.

Released on 22 October through Mayonie Productions, the single sees the South African artist explore Afro House alongside two established names in the genre. The collaboration brings her distinctive sound and approach to self expression into a space driven by rhythm and electronic production.

Khetha, meaning “choose” in isiZulu, takes its cue from Moonchild Sanelly’s popular phrase, “choose your struggle”. The message has gained traction on social media, where dance challenges and fan participation have helped spread the idea that while everyone faces challenges, how we respond to them is a choice.

The track extends that message beyond social media, pairing it with a sound made for the dancefloor. At its core, Khetha is about personal agency, encouraging listeners to make deliberate choices and face life on their own terms.

For Moonchild Sanelly, whose work moves across genres and challenges expectations, the collaboration offers another space to experiment with her sound. Working with ZVRI and Kususa brings together different approaches to African electronic music, with Afro House providing the foundation for the track.

The release also forms part of Mayonie Productions’ ongoing efforts to bring African artists and producers together across genres and audiences.

‘Khetha’ is out now.
