Yesterday morning, designers, creatives, artists and media filled Kohi at 44 Stanley to mark the launch of a new partnership between 10and5 and G-STAR.
At a time when fashion often moves faster than it reflects, G-STAR and Between 10and5
introduce Art of Style – a monthly column designed to slow the conversation down. More than a column, it marks a return to fashion as considered, culturally grounded dialogue.

Art of Style builds on the legacy of traditional fashion columns, focusing on perspective and informed
commentary with the goal to bring more depth to South Africa’s fashion media landscape through local
publications.
Through this collaboration, G-STAR and Between 10and5 bring a shared perspective into editorial –
creating a more thoughtful fashion dialogue. G-STAR is positioning itself not only as a leader in denim
but as an active contributor to contemporary fashion discourse.

Inside the launch
The launch took place at Kohi, 44 Stanley, through an intimate, curated brunch. The conversation
focused on style, trends and womenswear – bringing together friends of the brand and some of
Johannesburg’s fashion and creative community.

Style in Display
The event also offered a closer look at G-STAR’s upcoming collection.
Jeans stood out as directional denim silhouettes, alongside Raw Research and Archetypes pieces that emphasise design-led construction. These collections grounded the conversation in the growing women’s collection, reinforcing the link between design, fit and modern styling.

As fashion continues to evolve, Art of Style positions itself within the ongoing conversation.
Bringing together G-STAR’s global authority and Between 10and5’s local perspective, the column is
set to contribute meaningfully to South Africa’s fashion narrative.
If Thursday morning at 44 Stanley was anything to go by, the appetite is very much there.
Art of Style runs monthly. Follow Between 10and5 for the full column.
