Followers of Halo Yagami have seen his gradual progression into more of an Afro Pop based sound and “Only You” sees the artist dive head-first into his newfound commitment to the sound.
Halo Yagami has always had an intrinsic feel for aesthetics and that can be seen in the cover art for “Only You”. The cover art sees him dawn traditional clothing, which speaks to the sonic build of the single. Halo Yagami introduces us to the song with gentle strings and African percussion while his vocals effortlessly sit atop the production.
As is the case with most of Halo Yagami’s catalog, the magic lies in his vocal delivery. Halo Yagami’s cadence and delivery are reminiscent of something you might hear in a maskandi artist, but by no means is it a like-for-like delivery.
