Focalistic, the maestro of amapiano, has joined forces with adidas to release a groundbreaking single, “Pressure,” inspired by the intense demands faced by artists and athletes. Alongside the track comes a visually stunning music video, featuring a star-studded lineup of South African celebrities from both the sporting and lifestyle realms under the adidas banner.

Set against the iconic backdrop of Orlando Stadium, the video includes appearances by legendary footballer Lucas Radebe, rugby World Cup champion Damian Willemse, football captain Ronwen Williams, Olympians Akani Simbini and Boipelo Awuah, fashion icon Rich Mnisi, and music sensation Shekhinah, among others.

“Pressure” stands out as a unique anthem, blending the rich heritage of football with the infectious rhythms of amapiano music, a genre that has captured hearts worldwide.

This collaboration represents a significant fusion of cultural and sporting icons, resulting in a distinctly South African music video that celebrates both sports and the vibrant culture that surrounds it.

More than just a song, “Pressure” embodies the spirit of overcoming challenges, drawing from Focalistic’s personal journey from a promising young footballer in Pretoria to a chart-topping musician. The track also echoes adidas’ core message, encouraging individuals to express themselves freely by tapping into the joy that fuels their talents.

Says Focalistic, “Growing up in Garankuwa, Pretoria, I lived and breathed soccer, always striving to score goals and excel on the field. While I may not be a professional footballer today, the discipline and drive I learned from the game have helped me achieve success in music, including building my record label, ’18 Area.’

Partnering with Adidas to merge sports, fashion, and music was a natural fit, resulting in ‘Becha,’ a celebration of sports and culture. My hope is that ‘Pressure’ will inspire and uplift those who are feeling the weight of expectations.”

The launch of “Pressure” coincides with adidas Originals’ latest campaign, which pays tribute to the brand’s cultural heritage and the communities that have embraced classic adidas silhouettes like the Samba, Gazelle, and Handball Spezial.
