10and5: Your fashion sense is often described as bold and authentic. How does denim, particularly G-Star’s latest collection, influence and elevate your personal look?
I think it elevates my personal style in a real way. I find that denim is something I really identified with when I was trying to define who I was in terms of my style. Denim played a really big role in me sort of experimenting and so I think this new collection really reflects that.”-Filah Lah Lah

10and5: Denim is such a versatile fabric. How do you incorporate it into your everyday looks, and what excites you about wearing denim pieces?
I just love playing with it! I love ripping it apart, creating new shapes and structures, I just love the leeway that it leaves to experiment.-Filah Lah Lah
10and5: G-Star is known for its innovative and edgy designs. How do these elements align with your own fashion identity and personality?
I think I’m pretty corky, experimental, bold and baggy. I have a very street style, with a Hip Hop influence, I think these new pieces and a lot of G-Star pieces really just align with that.
10and5: In what ways do you feel that G-Star’s unique approach to denim speaks to your creativity and self-expression through fashion?
It allows me to express myself, in a manner that I feel comfortable. I don’t really feel like a girly girl on most days, I think the new G-Star line reflects that, but when I do feel like I want to be a lady the new collection allows me to accommodate that. I just love that it’s edgy, sexy, cool and is current, but also leaves room for a person to show who they are through their own personal style.-Filah Lah Lah
10and5: What drew you to feature with G-Star for this collection, and how does wearing their denim make you feel both on and off the stage?
I think I’ve just always admired G-Star, especially how they approach denim. I think that’s just a good way to interact with a brand, is to know how they feel about their products. I just feel personally very confident in a G-star look, I feel beautiful and I feel cool. I think G-star is cool, youthful and beautiful.-Filah Lah Lah
