Sash SA Unveils ‘Phola Park Sunset,’ the Final Chapter of Its Trilogy

Sash South Africa has released the final instalment of its ‘Phola Park’ trilogy, marking the end of a creative journey that has explored everyday joy, cultural expression, and now, the beauty of transition.

The latest collection, Phola Park Sunset, captures the shifting hues of a South African sunset, weaving together themes of love, healing, and nostalgia.

Creative Director Sakhile Cebekhulu describes the collection as a tribute to the last light of day before night falls. “We wanted to close this chapter with a collection that feels like a moment suspended in time,” says Cebekhulu. “This is both a reflection and an evolution of what Phola Park has meant to us.”

The collection’s palette mirrors the fading daylight, shifting from canary yellows and golden mustards to deep burnt oranges, before settling into grounding earth tones of green and brown.

These shades come to life in a lineup of 24 looks—12 menswear and 12 womenswear—featuring a mix of semi-tailored jackets, structured suiting, utility-inspired workwear, and fluid skirts.

Signature elements from previous collections return, tying together the trilogy’s overarching narrative.

The intricate Lion’s Tail motif, Phola Park artwork, and bold embroidery appear on pieces like the Lions Tail Ringer T-Shirt, a vibrant nod to summer optimism, and the Phola Park Wide-Leg Utility Pants, designed for both movement and impact.

Other standout pieces include the Phola Park Printed Semi-Tailored Jacket and the Pleated Midi Skirt, both of which embody Sash South Africa’s signature blend of contemporary tailoring and artistic storytelling.

The lookbook, shot against an intimate and striking backdrop, reflects the emotional depth of the collection, capturing how colour and light shift in harmony.

The visual narrative was brought to life by a creative team including photographer Simba Takaedza, stylist Mpumi Mdunge, and models Wesley Takaedza and Teisha Santos, with makeup by Bongiwe Ngondo.
