USURPA Gallery is thrilled to announce its participation in the inaugural RMB Latitudes Art Fair in Johannesburg between 26 and 28 May 2023.
The recently opened gallery will be exhibiting alongside artists and exhibitors from across the continent at the ‘indoor-outdoor’ Art Fair at the magnificent Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg. Dubbed a ‘new art experience’, RMB Latitudes is a fitting event for visitors to immerse themselves in USURPA’s novel art offering, which adds a new dimension of desire to the concept of fine art — the power of digital art informed by African future thought.
At the Fair, USURPA will present The New Medium group exhibition, a unique intersection of technology and fine art by twelve South African artists: Seth Pimentel, Baba Tjeko, Naledi Modupi, Sinalo Ngcaba, Mncedi Madolo, Nene Mahlangu, Mark Draws, vonMash, Oliver Pohorille, Terence Maluleke, Samurai Farai and Navel Seakamela. The artist’s works have been adapted from either physical or static digital forms into vibrant and dynamic pieces that breathe life into each line, hue and expression on the Samsung Frame TVs.
In an exciting addition, the Samsung-powered exhibition will also feature a new series of artworks from USURPA’s various commissioned artists for each day of the fair.
With the sole mission of empowering established and up-and-coming African artists, USURPA has created a platform that introduces digital art as a modern form of fine-art investment in the form of NFTs. The team behind this revolutionary concept is looking forward to inspiring visitors of the RMB Latitudes Art Fair with the rapidly evolving world of African digital art.
