Yum Yuck and Melting Resonance Team Up for Dreamy New Indie Track

Cape Town’s Yum Yuck has joined forces with Brooklyn-based producer Melting Resonance on a brand-new single titled the place i use to hide. The track dropped on 11 April and is available now on all streaming platforms.

The collab started as an instrumental idea in New York, where Melting Resonance (aka Jack) laid down the foundations. Yum Yuck (Pascal Righini) then took it to Cape Town, adding lyrics and vocals that dig into themes of isolation, frustration, and growth.

“It’s been quite a year
I took a train out from the sand bank into to the Wild West
I faced my fearsI took your bullets, took your best shot right to the chest”

– Yum Yuck

With soft vocals, warped acoustic guitar, and mellow synths, the place i use to hide balances groove with introspection. A touch of sax at the end gives it an unexpected lift and rounds out the production.
