031CHOPPA, SHAKES & LES AND ZEE NXUMALO DROP THE LONG-AWAITED “MALUNDE” MUSIC VIDEO

031Choppa, Shakes & Les and Zee Nxumalo drop the long-awaited “Malunde” music video

“Malunde” has been one of the biggest tracks to come out of Dezemba. The collab between 031Choppa, Shakes & Les, Zee Nxumalo and Springle turned into a dance floor anthem, a TikTok trend, and a playlist favourite. Now the song finally has a music video to match its energy.

Shot by director Young Matee, the video moves between Soweto’s buzzing township streets and the Jozi CBD skyline, capturing the nightlife culture that inspired the track. It’s raw, unfiltered, and rooted in the groove.  “Working with them is refreshing,” the artists shared. “They’re always open to trying new things, but they don’t play when it comes to wasting time.”

“Malunde” also brings a few surprises. Comedian Malume Lolo shows up in a cameo role as a news reporter, while a sudden weather change during a rooftop scene added a cinematic touch that the team decided to keep.

“This is our hit,” the artists say.

“We made it in a studio camp where the vibes were real — full of liquor, full of energy. It felt like groove itself. Seeing it go viral and now having the video out means people can connect even more with the story.”

The timing is deliberate too. By dropping the video now, outside the crowded December release window, the team is giving “Malunde” space to shine.

Fans can also look forward to a “Malunde” tour, plus a joint EP and more singles still to come. For now, the video is live as a proper celebration of South Africa’s groove life, brought to screen with the same energy that made the song a hit.
