Cape Town Furniture Week 2025: What to Expect and How to Join In

Cape Town Furniture Week is back, and if you’re into design, creativity, or just love discovering cool new things, this is one to check out. Running from Wednesday 19 February to Saturday 22 February 2025, it’s four days of exhibitions, pop-ups, talks, and behind-the-scenes tours, all celebrating furniture and homeware design.

What’s It About?

This year’s theme, “Discover Design in the City,” is all about exploring creativity in different spaces across Cape Town. Expect showrooms, pop-ups, and special exhibitions spread across five districts: Central City, De Waterkant, Kloof Street, Gardens, and East City.

Highlights You Shouldn’t Miss

Opening Night (19 Feb, 5-8 PM) – This is the big kickoff. Walk between venues, check out the latest designs, and meet the makers. The Festival Hub at Church House is a good place to start, with drinks from Babylonstoren and a main exhibition featuring a mix of local studios.

CTFW x VISI Design Prize – A brand-new award celebrating fresh, innovative furniture and homeware design. See the shortlisted entries at the LEMKUS building and find out who takes home the prize.

Designtalks

Design Talks (19 Feb, 2-5 PM, Cape Town Club) – A lineup of top designers and creatives talking about design, sustainability, and collaboration. Names like Haldane Martin, Sindiso Khumalo, and Matteo Cibic are on the list.

Exhibitions & Pop-Ups – Brands like Studio Kalki, Modern Gesture, White Sheep Studio, and Bronze Age are showcasing their latest designs in unique spaces across the city.

Anyone can come! Whether you’re a design student, an industry pro, or just curious about creative spaces, there’s something to see. If you work in interior design, architecture, property, or hospitality, you can register for Trade Access to get early access to the events schedule.

It’s free! No tickets needed for exhibitions, but some talks and tours require registration. The full event schedule will be available online soon, so keep an eye on the CTFW website.
