FAME Week is On. Catch 10and5 on stage today.

Africa’s film, television, animation, fashion and music industries have gathered in Cape Town for the annual FAME Week Africa gathering from 1-7 September. With over 270 speakers, 90 content sessions and 30 live action pitches including Book-to-Screen pitches and animation pitches; it’s where the big deals are brokered that will determine what viewers will be seeing on their screens next. 

The Power of Music Videos in Elevating African Artists

Join 10and5 for an engaging Q&A session, where we will be exploring the power of music videos with Kyle Lewis, one of South Africa’s top music video directors known for his keen instinct on Youth Culture, alongside Andile Masilela, 10and5’s managing partner who has a flair for youth culture and a boundary-pushing knack for the creativity and media industry.

This session will give our audience the opportunity to gain valuable insights from a talented visual storyteller and performance director who is making a significant impact in the industry.

Annel Malan, Director of Between 10and5 will be in discussion with Amílcar Patel, Founder, KAMVA,  Nkanyiso Shoba (Mxshi Mo), Musician and Chris Kets, Documentary Filmmaker the film 6SENSE, a powerful documentary that tells the story of Mxshi Mo, a visually impaired individual from Pietermaritzburg, who has gained international recognition for his music.

Another FAME Week first, is the inaugural Inclusive Lens Awards, supported by Urban Brew. Created to shine a spotlight on African content that celebrates diversity and representation, the Awards drew exceptional and inspiring entries. The finalists have been selected and the Awards will take place on Tuesday 3 September. 

Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience 31 short films from Africa and the diaspora for the FAME Week Shorts Festival, a public film festival taking place at the Labia Cinema from 4-7 September, more information can be found at fameshortsfilmfestival.com
