Myles Smith, the talented singer-songwriter known for his hit songs ‘Solo’ and ‘My Home,’ will be touring South Africa this August.
The tour includes two major performances: Thursday, 22 August at the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town and Saturday, 24 August at the Parklive Festival at Marks Park in Johannesburg. Local favourite Craig Lucas will join the line-up for both concerts.
London-born Myles Smith began playing guitar at the age of nine. His career has skyrocketed over the past year, thanks to a series of original tracks and captivating covers that blend folk, Americana, and pop. Smith has amassed 135 million streams, over 600,000 Instagram followers, 6.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and nearly 850,000 TikTok followers.
Smith’s rise to fame is marked by his ability to connect deeply with his audience. His music draws inspiration from artists like Green Day, Ben Howard, Labrinth, and UK Rap, creating a unique sound that resonates widely.
He started his journey performing at open mic nights and support slots, using music as a tool to navigate life’s complexities. This journey is reflected in his mantra, ‘It’s okay to feel,’ which he shares with fans through his concept of ‘Group Therapy.’
Speaking about his debut EP, Smith said, “This title represents a profound, yet neutral statement, which gains meaning through the perspective of the person reading it. With the project, my own stories, and the stories of those around me were used to create it, but it’s the stories and journeys of those listening who truly give it life, depending on where you are in life and what you are feeling. I hope it gives space to people to unlock their own meanings.”
