G-STAR and Wu-Tang Clan Team Up on a Global Denim Collaboration

The multi-year collaboration will debut in Atlanta this September before rolling out globally in November, with more drops, including womenswear, planned for 2027.

G-STAR and Wu-Tang Clan are joining forces for a multi-year apparel collaboration that brings the legendary hip-hop collective’s visual language into the Dutch denim brand’s signature approach to design.

The first collection will preview in Atlanta this September, timed to Wu-Tang Clan’s performance at Shaky Knees Festival, which takes place from 18 to 20 September at Piedmont Park. The collection will then roll out worldwide in November, coinciding with the group’s historic induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

For those in Atlanta, early access to the first drop will be available exclusively at the G-STAR Atlanta store on 20 September.

Rather than simply putting Wu-Tang branding onto existing pieces, the collaboration looks at how the collective’s identity can be worked into the clothing itself. G-STAR’s signature denim washes and silhouettes have been reworked with Wu-Tang detailing, alongside outerwear and knitwear.

The collaboration has already had a low-key first appearance. In March, Wu-Tang Clan members wore a limited-edition tour jacket onstage in Amsterdam. Sourced and embroidered in the Netherlands, the jacket was created as a cultural piece rather than a retail product, offering an early look at the craftsmanship behind the wider collaboration.

“Wu-Tang built a world out of nothing but skill, code and imagination — that’s the same discipline behind every pair of jeans we make. Atlanta feels like the right place to introduce that to the people,” said G-STAR CEO Rob Schilder.

RZA described the pairing as a natural fit, pointing to G-STAR’s combination of ruggedness, swagger and elegance.

“G-STAR is on the scene representing the rugged mixed with swag and elegance, a style that completely fits Wu-Tang because we’ve always represented urban ruggedness yet elevated swag,” – RZA.

The partnership was facilitated in association with Iconic Artists Group. Bil Bertini, SVP and Head of Licensing and Brand Partnerships at Iconic Artists Group, described the collaboration as an alignment between G-STAR’s raw denim heritage and Wu-Tang’s “raw, unbridled energy”.

Additional programming around the Atlanta launch is expected during festival weekend, with details to be announced closer to the time.

The first collection arrives globally in November, with additional drops, including womenswear capsules, planned for 2027.
