The V&A Waterfront’s Artist Alliance is gearing up for an exciting event this month—Conversations on Creativity: Unleashing the Potential of Public Art. This will be their second talk of 2024, and it’s set to be a thought-provoking discussion on the power of public art in shaping communities, driving social change, and building successful creative careers.
This engaging conversation will bring together some of the most influential voices in the world of public art and placemaking. Attendees will get to dive into topics like community engagement, urban renewal, and the ins and outs of making a living through commissions and projects. It’s an event that promises to inspire anyone interested in the intersection of creativity and societal impact.
The lineup of speakers is nothing short of impressive:
- Marco Morgan, an independent strategist and urbanist with over 17 years of experience in city planning, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Henry Mathys, an independent strategist and advocate for social impact.
- Nonka Mbonambi, a visual artist, curator, muralist, Managing Director of Creative Nestlings, and founder of CURATICA.
- Johnny Allison, an award-winning artist, muralist, illustrator, and animator.
The conversation will be guided by Dillion S. Phiri, the founder of Creative Nestlings, who will bring his unique perspective to the discussion.
This event is a must-attend for anyone looking to unleash their creative potential and make a mark in the vibrant world of public art. It’s not just a talk—it’s an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and get inspired by those who are already making a difference.
