G-Star Kicks Off the First Chapter at Vault on Bree

Vault on Bree opens as Cape Town’s new creative space, kicking off with a G-Star denim showcase and a Phil Kramer–designed listening bar.

Cape Town has a new spot for creatives.

Vault on Bree, sitting on the corner of Bree and Castle Street, opened its doors during November’s First Thursdays as a space built for ideas, collaboration and community. It’s designed as a third space for artists, designers, brands and innovators to meet, experiment and grow together.

The space was created with intention. Every detail is shaped around connection. A place that feels open, warm and made for conversation. Vault on Bree wants to bring the city’s creative energy into one room and keep it moving.

One of the standout features is the listening bar. Designed with Phil Kramer, the sound designer behind the system at One Park, the bar celebrates the art of sound. It’s a space to slow down, listen deeply and experience music the way it was meant to be heard. High-quality sound. Focus. Presence. No rush.

G-Star is the first brand to activate inside the space. The denim label is launching a two-month installation that celebrates craft, innovation and street culture.

The opening brought together familiar names from the local scene, including Wanda Lephoto, who played a live DJ set built around rhythm and storytelling. Lukhanyo Mdingi, Molife from GQ, Tania Durand and other creatives also pulled through, setting the tone for what Vault on Bree wants to be: a home for the city’s creative pulse.

Vault on Bree is not static. It’s built to shift and evolve. Over the next few months, the space will host new exhibitions, brand takeovers, collaborations and moments that reflect Cape Town’s identity, bold, curious and always creating.
