Merchants on Long is kicking off the summer season with a fresh lineup of African fashion and design events. Known for showcasing top talent from across the continent, the Cape Town-based concept store is the go-to spot for anyone interested in the latest in African creativity.
The season began with a pop-up featuring South African designer Sindiso Khumalo, who brought her award-winning looks to the space from October 23 to November 2. Her showcase is just the start of a packed schedule.
Next up, from November 4-10, is “ROOTS: Made in Africa,” a collaboration with Nigeria’s LHAUDE Africa. This pop-up will highlight new design talent and bring together voices in African fashion for panel talks. Expect to see brands like Kiko Romeo and Mangishi Doll and hear from fashion experts like Sulona Reddy and Tamburai Chirume.
In December, there’s a double feature. From December 9-14, Merchants on Long teams up with Ghanaian brand Friend Studio for a capsule collection celebrating African craftsmanship. And on December 6, they’re launching the Okapi x Millerner collection, a range of hats and accessories co-created with artist Whitney Halsted.
With these events, Merchants on Long is the place to be for anyone looking to dive into Africa’s design world this summer.
Don’t miss out on this chance to connect with the artists and designers shaping African fashion.
