Future Talks return to the Decorex stage with multi-disciplinary visionary Bathandwa Ngwendu as MC for a host of inspiring speakers
Decorex has just upped their game. This morning they announced that the Decorex Future Talks is making a comeback this year with Bathandwa Ngwendu as the Master of Ceremonies. This series of inspirational talks is set to take place at Decorex Cape Town from 6 to 9 June 2024, and Decorex Joburg from 1 to 4 August 2024.
Who’s Bathandwa Ngwendu?
A visionary, storyteller and director with deep roots in the South African creative landscape. As the host of the Maak ‘n Plan podcast, he’s known for captivating audiences with insightful commentary on arts and culture. Hailing from Khayelitsha and nurtured in Kraaifontein, Cape Town, Ngwendu’s rich cultural background infuses his work, making him a respected voice in contemporary discourse.
What to Expect?
Future Talks is all about collaboration and sustainable design practices. Get ready for discussions on topics like sustainability, design entrepreneurship, and the impact of technology on creativity. Each session is curated to ignite critical discussions and to try to inspire groundbreaking solutions to industry challenges.

The 2024 Future Talks visual identity was designed by Jana and Koos, a creative branding and design agency led by Jana Hamman and Koos Groenewald. For more than a decade they’ve been sought-after for establishing brand personalities that leave lasting impressions. Their approach is always conceptually-driven and culturally-relevant.

From interior design trends to urban challenges, the lineup of speakers is sure to spark thought-provoking conversations.
