Netflix Finally Shares A Trailer for Its First African Animation Series, Supa Team 4

Four unsuspecting schoolgirls think they are on their way to detention, but instead, a fantastical adventure awaits them as they shed their school uniforms and transform into magnificent superheroes. Up against devious villains, the fierce foursome finds themselves at the centre of an epic battle to save their beloved city, Lusaka. With luck and an unbreakable friendship, the girls balance superhero duties, doing chores and finishing their homework! 

Supa Team 4 is set to burst onto Netflix on 20th July 2023 as the global streaming service’s first African animation series. Created by Zambian writer Malenga Mulendema, with South African animation studio Triggerfish and leading London-based kids’ entertainment specialist CAKE as producers, with animation from Superprod Animation in France, the eight-part series celebrates the continent’s dynamic storytelling and showcases the strength, intelligence and bravery within all young people. 


Incredible African talents, including John KaniPamela NomveteZowa NgwiraNamisa MdlaloseNancy Sekhokoane and Sparky Xulu voice the action-filled animation. International voice actors John MacMillan and Kimani Arthur complete the impressive talent lineup. 

Zambian rapper, singer and songwriter Sampa the Great graces the series with her musical brilliance, singing the show’s theme song. Supa Team 4 is dubbed in isiZulu and the voice behind Mama K is actress Linda Sokhulu.
