If you’re a young, creative entrepreneur, don’t miss the opportunity to showcase your business idea at this year’s Pitch Den competition and stand a chance to win R30,000 in prize money.
The SoCreative Summit happening in Joburg on 9 & 10 May is a deep dive into all things creativity, innovation, and technology. The organisers have announced that the Pitch Den (a popular aspect of the 2022 SoCreative Summit) is returning. Held at the Summit’s main hall ‘Assembly’, on May 10th at Victoria Yards in Lorentzville, Johannesburg.
The Pitch Den is the embodiment of the spirit of the Summit, a space where inspiration and possibility are top of mind.
Previous winner, Khanyisile Zondi, swooped in and claimed the top spot at the Pitch Den, with her pitch for TechJam, a tech and gaming-focused content and events venture. Since then, she’s stepped up turning her vision into reality with the help of the prize money. In her own words, “The funding empowered us to actualise our TechJam program. We now provide a supportive community for creative game developers and tech professionals, offering training opportunities which has allowed me to make my mark in this complex space.”
What Can I Win?
This year’s contestants will go head-to-head, pitching their business ideas for the coveted R30,000 grand prize and a membership with Business and Arts South Africa (BASA). Two runners-up will also snag R20,000 and R10,000.
Handpicked after a rigorous selection process, the eight contenders will receive coaching from facilitator and mentor Eugenie Drakes to ensure they’re primed and inspired for the big day.
A panel of judges drawn from the creative sector will be standing by to evaluate the pitches and ask some challenging questions.
