Dior Lights Up The Leonardo for Rouge Dior On Stage Launch

Johannesburg’s skyline had a new glow in September, when Dior unveiled its latest lipstick collection with a light show that lit up The Leonardo.

The French luxury brand marked the launch of Rouge Dior On Stage by projecting illuminated artworks across one of Africa’s tallest buildings. The installation, running on selected evenings until 21 September, transformed Sandton’s skyline with lasers, lighting and large-scale projections.

The new collection introduces a “next generation” lipstick with Dior’s double-phase technology. Rouge Dior On Stage comes in 10 shades, ranging from soft nudes to bold reds, and is designed to balance comfort with long wear. The slim silhouette and silver cannage motif reference Dior’s design codes, while the reversed CD logo signals a refreshed identity for the line.

For Dior South Africa, the striking display was about more than a product drop. “With the launch of Rouge Dior On Stage, we are not only introducing one of the brand’s most exciting creations, but placing it firmly in the South African spotlight,” says Armine Anders, General Manager of Dior Beauty South Africa.

The projection ran from 7pm to 9pm, Thursday to Sunday, until 21 September but don’t despair if you missed it because there are hints at more activations to come.
