With the Samsung Galaxy Buds4, we looked at them less as a piece of consumer tech and more as an everyday creative tool.
Designed to Keep Up
At 4.6g per earbud, the Buds4 are light enough to wear throughout the day without constantly reminding you they’re there. The case is equally portable, making them easy to throw into a pocket or work bag alongside the rest of your daily essentials.
The earbuds also carry an IP54 rating, giving them some protection against dust and splashes, useful when your day involves more than sitting behind a desk. But comfort and portability are only the starting point.
Sound, With Space to Focus
The Buds4 use an 11mm wide-range speaker, supported by Adaptive EQ and a 9-band equaliser, giving you more control over how you listen. For Galaxy users with compatible devices, Samsung’s Seamless Codec supports audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, allowing compatible high-resolution content to be experienced with greater detail. The bigger story, however, is noise control.
Adaptive ANC adjusts the listening experience to your environment, making it useful when you’re trying to concentrate in a café, on public transport or somewhere with constant background noise. When you need to reconnect with your surroundings, ambient sound brings the outside world back in without requiring you to remove the earbuds.
For creative work, that ability to move between focus and awareness is arguably more useful than simply having louder sound.
More Than Listening
The modern creative day doesn’t happen in one place.Calls happen while travelling. Meetings happen between shoots. Voice notes arrive while you’re walking between locations.The Buds4 have six microphones and Samsung’s Super Clear Call technology, designed to separate your voice from surrounding noise.
There are also upgraded pinch controls for managing playback, calls and volume without reaching for your phone. It’s a small feature, but one that becomes useful when you’re moving, carrying equipment or simply trying to stay in the flow. For those already working across Samsung Galaxy devices, Auto Switch can move audio between compatible devices, making the Buds4 feel less like an isolated accessory and more like part of the wider Galaxy setup.
Enough for the Day?
Samsung rates the Buds4 for up to 5 hours of music playback with ANC on, extending to 24 hours with the charging case. Switch ANC off and that increases to up to 6 hours of playback and 30 hours with the case. In practical terms, the case becomes just as important as the earbuds themselves. Drop them back in between uses and you’re ready for the next part of the day.
The real test of an everyday device isn’t how impressive its specification sheet looks. It’s whether you continue reaching for it once the novelty wears off. The Galaxy Buds4 make sense because they fit into the spaces between things. For creatives, that’s increasingly what we need from our technology: less friction, more flexibility and tools that can keep up with the pace of the day.
