Redbat Posse Design Challenge Closing On 18 July 2022

Redbat Posse was started in 2020 and officially launched in 2021 amid the rise of gender-based violence in South Africa. This initiative powered by Redbat aims to aid women-led charities with donations, through the sales of Redbat Posse merchandise at Sportscene stores nationwide.

This July, leading up to woman’s month in August, we are calling on young femme designers to submit designs and mood-boards which will be judged by Redbat buyers.

Six finalists will be chosen and then sent Redbat samples to upcycle and use as materials to create their signature Redbat streetwear inspired fit. The winner of the Redbat Posse challenge will stand a chance to not only win R50 000 towards their business, but they will also collaborate on the next Redbat Posse capsule collection, and have the chance to showcase their design at the next SA Fashion Week, later in the year. As inspiration for the design challenge, we reached out to three of SA’s upcoming femme streetwear designers, Kgomotso Kiggy (Long Season), Robyn Agulhas (Sin Chui), and Anita Hlazo (Afrogrunge). Their looks can be seen on all Redbat social media platforms.

Stand a chance to win R50 000 and a collaboration with Redbat on the next Redbat Posse capsule by entering the #RedbatPosse Design competition. A platform for women, created by women. The deadline for submission is 18 July 2022!
