As our Cape-Town-based account director and project manager, Gemma brings her marketing and e-commerce experience to the team. She leads the company’s marketing strategy division, partnership relationships, communications, and international growth initiatives, as well as deepening engagement within our existing community and elevating 10and5 to new clients and partners within the continent and abroad.
Bio
Gemma Shepherd is a Cape-Town based interdisciplinary artist who historically uses photography as a medium to explore issues of self, belonging and becoming. After completing a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cape Town, she entered the fashion industry, which ultimately led her to photography. For the past few years, photography became her dominant medium.
Gemma shares, ‘’Although I started my artistic journey as a photographer, I am currently engaging in alternative ways to visually represent the concepts I am grappling with, all which reflect my life in a very personal nature. This forms part of my artistic offering – a multidimensional approach and an understanding of life through art, and art through life’’.
