If your wardrobe could use a refresh, clear your calendar. One of Cape Town’s biggest annual vintage shopping events is returning this August with thousands of pre-loved fashion pieces, designer labels and one-off finds, all under one roof.
Vintage with Love’s annual Big Sale is back from 27 to 30 August at the V&A Waterfront Cruise Terminal, with an opening night on 27 August giving shoppers first access to the rails before the public sale begins.
For more than a decade, the non-profit has been turning donated clothing into funding for literacy and education initiatives across South Africa. This year, it’s expanding the event into The Big Week, adding a new fundraising fashion show alongside its much-loved shopping experience.
Thousands of pre-loved pieces to shop
The Big Sale isn’t a traditional vintage market. Every item has been donated by individuals, fashion lovers, brands and corporate partners before being sorted and curated by the Vintage with Love team.
Expect thousands of pieces spanning international luxury labels, South African designers, premium high-street brands, vintage gems, handbags, shoes and accessories. Whether you’re hunting for everyday basics, a standout occasion look or a rare designer find, the constantly changing stock means no two visits are the same.
Opening Night takes place on Wednesday 27 August, giving ticket holders first pick of the collection before the sale opens to the public. Tickets cost R300.
The public sale runs from Thursday 28 to Sunday 30 August, with entry priced at R50.
The Big Show
The Big Show will take place on 20 August. Held at Beluga above the Cruise Terminal, the evening combines a sustainable fashion runway, dinner, live entertainment, a welcome drink and a fundraising auction, all in support of literacy and education projects.
Together, the two events highlight how fashion can extend beyond personal style. By giving pre-loved clothing a second life, the initiative helps reduce textile waste while raising funds for educational programmes across the country.
